As part of the first activity of our project we networked with as many civil society organisations as possible and advocated the importance of associations still operating in times of crisis. During June and July 2020, we have connected with several student associations and student clubs. We are working intensively to form an advocacy initiative in which we want to actively engage as many young people as possible and encourage them to speak publicly about the problems which student associations are facing. We have asked them to highlight the links with other civil society organisations and to present their proposals of possible solutions.<\/p>\n

Representatives of the Initiative for Strong Civil Society, of which we are a member, and the CROSOL platform met on Friday 24 July on Pantov\u010dak with the President of the Republic of Croatia Zoran Milanovi\u0107. The representatives told the President about the problems and challenges which civil society organisations in Croatia are facing today regarding their sustainability and institutional support. In addition, they made him aware of the difficulties they face when presenting our country to international bodies and bodies of the European Union.<\/p>\n

The focus has been put on problems resulting in the undermining of the civil society sector due to the distortion of the institutional framework and funding systems from public and European funds for the last 4 years.<\/p>\n

Part of the meeting was also dedicated to the future actions and the need to respect the autonomy of the civil society sector. This mainly applies to decision making within the Council for Development of the Civil Society and elections within international bodies such as the recent appointment to the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC).<\/p>\n

As part of the second activity of our project workshops focusing on mapping the needs and services provided in the field of mental as well as workshops focusing on the use of video conferencing apps used for providing psychosocial support were carried out. In addition, we have networked with associates and volunteers from deprived counties and are intensively preparing workshops. The third activity involves encouraging and empowering users to provide and receive psychosocial support services using video conferencing applications. It is held continuously in the form of individual and group therapy meetings of mental health professionals and people in need via Zoom application. #ahaprojekti<\/a>, #acfhrvatska<\/a><\/p>\n
